Tata Sons Chairman announces the opening of iconic Taj Connemara

The 147-key heritage peoperty opens door after nearly two years of renovation and refurbishment

After nearly two-years of renovation and upgrade, Chennai’s iconic Taj Connemara has now opened door to guests. More than 160 years old heritage property, the hotel’s relaunch was announced by Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and MD & CEO of IHCL, Puneet Chhatwal, at a glittering function at the renovated property.
The event announcing the grand re-launch of Taj Connemara, one of the crown jewels in IHCL’s portfolio, evolved into a soiree with Chennai’s who’s who gracing the occasion. The guests were treated with some spectacular performance by Manasi Scott and her band.
Dating back to 1854, the 147-key hotel’s legendary history has been brought to life with fresh and modern sensibilities. With Taj since 1984, the Taj Connemara is a proud relic of the colonial era and is named after Lord Connemara, the then Governor of Madras.
