Third edition of Global Film Tourism Conclave to be organised on Jan 11

‘Transforming Location into Vacation’ has opted as theme of the event

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) is all set to organize the third edition of Global Film Tourism Conclave on January 11, 2019 at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, Maharashtra. Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is supporting the event, whereas Producers Guild of India is the Synergy Partner for the programme.
The objective of the conclave is to promote Film Tourism. The Conclave provides an opportunity to the partner destinations to showcase their product to the film makers. Apart from this, the partner destinations can promote various incentives and support being provided to the film makers.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Government of India and Jaykumar Jitendrasinh Rawal, Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra has been invited as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour on the occasion respectively. The contour of renowned veterans of the Indian film industry includes Satish Kaushik, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Prasoon Joshi, Ashutosh Gowariker, Ramesh Sippy and Subhash Ghai among others.
Representatives from tourism boards such as Hungary, Romania, Delhi, Egypt, Gujarat, Macao, Punjab, Indonesia and Vietnam among others have been invited to give presentation on the incentive schemes for film shootings in their destinations.
Rajan Sehgal, Co-Chairman- Tourism Committee, PHDCCI, said: “Film Tourism is rapidly gaining popularity with Indian films reaching out to different untapped locations across the country which have great potential to be the next hotspot tourism destination. I am certain that our initiative will turn out to be highly fruitful in promoting and creating awareness about the untapped potential of Film Tourism in India.”
Panel discussions for promotion of Film Tourism in India as well as in other countries will be conducted during the conclave. In parallel to the panel discussions, there will also be an exhibition for destinations to showcase locations, tax incentives and subsidies etc.
