Infusing cutting edge technology to improve efficiency: Anirban Sengupta

2HUB has resumed its operations recently and concentrating on rebuilding of products, training and technology enhancement to recapture the market share.

As India has entered in to the ‘Unlock 5.0’, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued new guidelines which allowed conducting B2B exhibitions by following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the process of re-opening of activities has been further extended. The new development sent a positive vibe across the industry and some of the prominent companies resumed their offices and started operations.
Although, an industry which is the first and worst affected due to the spread out of COVID-19 pandemic, has a long way to go. Knowing the fact that the business sentiments in the market are not encouraging enough, the industry stakeholders are adopting New Normal and enhancing their skills to recapture the market share.
2HUB’s Senior Vice President, Anirban Sengupta while talking to Whereabouts says: “Currently the B2B market is emerging from a lull. There are a lot of enquires, but materialization ratio is low.”  2HUB – a B2B reseller platform focused at travel and hospitality industry has resumed (post lockdown) its operations recently.
Furthermore, Sengupta feels that, “The slowness of the market is also an opportunity to rebuild, and that is our biggest priority. We are recruiting, building up a secondary team to counter the anticipated demand growth. We already have invested in training, product creation and development of the technology.”
Speaking on the same lines he further said: “While rebuilding our product offering we are infusing cutting edge technology to improve efficiency. We have heavily invested in technology and in the coming months all our businesses will witness this infusion. Particularly our B2B offerings, both in front end and back end will have technology inclusions.”
“We had anticipated that travel in the B2B segment would begin from September, which held true although in small numbers. In and around Diwali we feel that the graph would see a radical incline northwards. Full throttle would be from summer of 2021,” says Sengupta while sharing his views on the market sentiments.
Pointing out at the challenges the industry is facing at the moment, he suggests that the biggest challenge is the disappearance of demand followed by complete uncertainty. “While there has been some numbers floating around, but they all seem to be more speculative than calculative. The only thing we are absolutely certain about is that the rise of demand is inversely proportionate to the fall of pandemic. But we do not know when that will happen and how much will be the rise,” he added.
