TAAI extends voluntary services for AirIndia crash victims

ravel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has connected with Chief Minister’s office in Kerala to offer its voluntary services in the tragic incident of Air India Express aircraft happened on the evening of 7th August 2020 at Kozikode Airport. In the incident, 18 people including two pilots have lost their lives and left many injured.
While expressing shock and concern over the incident, Jyoti Mayal, President, TAAI says, “Our members have volunteered to assist all Government/Airline officials and help the injured passengers and assist the families of the deceased. TAAI office bearers, its committee and members across the country pray that there are not many casualties.”
“We also urge DGCA and MoCA to appropriately probe the accident. Safety of human life is utmost important and should not be compromised at any level. Our members in Kerala and across the country shall be available to assist and can be connected for assistance of any nature,”
says Mayal.
Air India Chairman & MD, Rajiv Bansal, along with senior airline officers visited accident site to take stock of the situation; all possible assistance being provided to those affected.
Incident occurred around 7:40 pm. Aircraft overshot runway and fell off tabletop, splitting into two. Over 40 CISF personnel, Quick Response Team & Chief Airport Security Officer reached in minutes and started evacuation with Airports Authority of India.
“We are particularly saddened that all the passengers were returning on the Vande Bharat flight back to their homeland, India from Dubai, due to the pandemic, to relocate and connect back with their families. We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured in this accident and convey our heartfelt condolences to the families of the passengers, crew/pilot who lost their lives,”
she concludes.
