IATO Secretary will likely be one of the most keenly contested post. Jt. Secretary in the outgoing team, Rajnish Kaistha is contesting for the post of Secretary of IATO from ‘Team Moving Forward’ against the incumbent Rajesh Mudgill. Hands on and available, Kaistha is popular among his industry colleagues and IATO members alike, making him one of the strongest candidates in the forthcoming election.
Greater efficiency at IATO Secretariat, greater transparency at EC meetings through use of technology platforms like zoom and digitization, inviting Chapter Chairpersons to attend the EC meetings, Waiving off membership fee for 2021-22, amendment of MOA with inputs from members to make it even more member-friendly, increasing IATO’s membership base across India and a stronger IATO, skill development and knowledge seminars for members and employees, are works that he immediately plans to set about if elected.
“Secretariat is the heart of any association and secretary’s role is next to President. I look forward to make IATO secretariat member friendly with prompt actions and bring transparency. Long overdue mobile app process will be started within first week of being elected. Regular interactions with various ministries shall be top on the agenda for getting more benefits for our industry and members,” Kaistha promises.
As an IATO Office Bearer, Kaistha has been the convener of Grievances Committee, instrumental in settling members’ and industry issues. Man of a pleasant demeanor, Kaistha has actively participated in meetings with Government officials and is widely recognized for effectively taking up IATO members’ issues with MoT officials and other government departments. He has also been actively involved in MOT’s overseas marketing plans and strives hard to align it to IATO members’ interests.
“I have always been available for members and colleagues for their issues and concerns, meeting with lawyers on many occasions for IATO legal matters,have always actively participated in various IATO works, events and conventions. In the past I have helped set up events like get-India, a precursor to ‘India Tourism Mart’organised by FAITH along with MoT, under industry leaders.
Kaistha is a post-graduate in Tourism from Delhi University with marketing diploma from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and can speak German.A tourism veteran of over three decades, Kaistha started his career doing transfers, and visas, and has learnt the basics of tourism with hard work and dedication.
