SATTE’s Domestic Buyer Programme sold out, bucks pandemic trends

One of Asia’s biggest travel shows, over 35,000 tourism professionals had attended the show last year, majority of them being buyers

India’s fight against the devastating Covid-19 pandemic has taken the world by surprise amidst a vastly improved pandemic situation in the country. And South Asia’s biggest travel show SATTE’s successful Domestic Buyers Programme for the event, scheduled in a fortnight, is reflective of the mood of India Inc.that’s showing continuously-improving growth across every economic and social metrics.
Buyers from across India and the world would converge at SATTE 2021, scheduled in a fortnight, to discover and shop for new travel and tourism products that the market has to offer and forge profitable business deals and network.Keen to revive their businesses, domestic tourism buyers as well their destination, hotels and other suppliers counterparts expect to draw much from the event hailed as year’s first major international tourism expo globally.
With over 250 domestic buyers being hosted for the upcoming event on March 24-26, and the event’s ‘Domestic Buyer Programme’ closing earlier than anticipated, the show has already received an impressive response from the segment, especially keeping the pandemic in mind. The event last year was attended by more than 35,000 travel and tourism professional, a majority of them being buyers.
“We have received very encouraging response from the industry for SATTE 2021. Every major travel industry bodies have backed us in our effort to put together a successful SATTE 2021 expo. In terms of buyers, we got a very good response for our Domestic Buyer Programme. We have already closed the domestic buyer registrations for this hosted programme. All major State Tourism Boards who have been regularly participating at SATTE are confirming their participation at SATTE 2021,” informed Pallavi Mehra, Group Director of Informa Markets in India.
Furthermore, Mehra also informed that SATTE 2021 has also been getting encouraging response from international buyers despite the travel related restrictions in view of the pandemic.“There are foreign buyers approaching us and we are in the process of confirming their registrations,” she informed.
SATTE 2020 was attended by over 35,000 travel and tourism professionals that included domestic and international buyers and more than 1,100 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from 104 Indian cities and over 50 countries to conduct business.
