Bhavna Mathur releases second book ‘The Fragrant Healing Earth’

The recently launched book, ‘The Fragrant Healing Earth’ penned by Bhavna Mathur addresses the impact of environmental issues on tourism, local economy and
the lives of people.
In the backdrop of the Pandemic (Covid-19), how many characters understand the importance of conservation and ecological balance forms the crux of the story. The book evokes the urgent call for action to minimise the damage being caused to the environment.
‘The Fragrant Healing Earth’ is the story of university student Prakriti’s prayer to the Mother Goddess for peace and prosperity for entire creation that resides on the Planet Earth.
The story begins by describing how Prakriti and her family experience life through joys and struggles, including the recent ravaging Pandemic (Covid-19).
Through the experiences of College Professor Kalyani, close friend Jannat, family friend Ganesh and Development Professional Phoolpreet, the plot addresses significant themes such as Environment Conservation, Climate Change, Education and Integrated Development.
Prakriti’s story enlightens the reader to introspect and breaks apart the illusion of a safe world. It helps the reader to hold onto hope and seek solutions towards preservation rather than destruction.
The story brings alive the vitality inherent in the human spirit. It calls out the urgency for questioning the relevance of development at the cost of environmental degradation. The interconnectedness of all beings with Creation remains a particularly obvious thought in the story and inspires the reader towards leading a peaceful and meaningful life on planet Earth.
Bhavna Mathur, the author of ‘The Fragrant Healing Earth’ has a post-graduate degree in Community Resource Management and Extension from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. Her foray into writing started at an early age when she began writing poems and articles for newspapers and magazines. She has taught Resource Management, Communication Techniques and Extension Methods at Delhi University.
Bhavna’s debut novel, ‘The Goodness Charm’ was set in the coastal state of Odisha. ‘The Fragrant Healing Earth’ is the second novel penned by her.
