St. Petersburg appoints Salvia Promoters as Official India Partner

New Delhi: Visit St. Petersburg, the official tourism body of the city, has appointed Salvia Promoters as its official partner in India mandated with developing the fast growing India’s outbound tourism market in order to boost visits of Indian tourist to the historic city of St. Petersburg.
“India is the fastest growing economy in the world amongst the top economies. It has emerged as one of the fastest growing tourism source markets in the world with year-on-year annual growth hovering at around 11 per cent in the last few years. Besides, the UNWTO projects India to be a 50 million outbound travel market by 2020. And most importantly, our two countries are time-tested all-weather friends and it is important today that we further enhance and improve people-to-people interaction between our two countries,” said, Andrey Mushkarev, Chairman of Committee of Tourism Development of St. Petersburg, while sharing his views on opening the new tourism office in India.
Furthermore, he said that the decision to appoint Salvia Promoters as Visit St. Petersburg’s official partner in India is well thought out and strategic as ‘Salvia’ as a brand in India is synonymous with travel and tourism promotion to Russia.
“Salvia has extensively worked with Russia and its various regional tourism boards like ourselves handling Russian Visa Facilitation Centre in the past and promoting Russian tourism interest over the last one and half decades through various tourism development platforms and road shows. We have had wonderful experience of working with Salvia in the past and are confident that they will deliver the best for us. Prashant Chaudhary’s vast experience and tremendous market reach in India, as well as his exclusive Russian focus and expertise makes him the best candidate who could deliver on our expectation from the Indian market,” Mushkarev said.
Speaking on the appointment of Salvia Promoters as Visit St. Petersburg’s official tourism partner in India, Prashant Chaudhary, Partner, Salvia Promoters, said that the responsibility to represent as Visit St. Petersburg’s tourism office in India is the culmination of his love affair with Russia that started with his first visit to the country about 30 years ago.
“Indian travellers are yet to discover the former seat of Russian empire, its grandiose architecture, the majestic history of the royals of the past and their finely preserved historical footprints in The Peter and Paul Fortress, the amazing royal art collections at the Hermitage, the Peterhof Palace, the specimen of some of the most incredible feat of Russian engineering like the century old river bridges on Neva that open every night to allow the big cargo vessel to pass and the breathtakingly beautiful Summer white nights. These are but a very small slice of what St. Petersburg has to offer,” he informed.
