Thailand re-opening with new perspective & experiences, easy SOP’s

The current year will be celebrated as ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022’ with a new marketing campaign ‘Amazing New Chapters’ to welcome back tourists

As Thailand once again prepares to receive travellers from India, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has connected with the Indian travel media to create awareness about the latest SOP’s and guidelines, among the trade fraternity and the end users.
The event, ‘Welcome Back to Thailand with Amazing New Chapters’ organised at the Royal Embassy of Thailand in New Delhi, focused on updating on Thailand’s re-opening including flights from India, visa process and latest SOP’s for tourists, requirements to visit the destination as well as steps taken by the tourism authorities and the government to ensure high standards of health and safety measures for tourists and local tourism representatives in Thailand.
Present on the occasion, Her Excellency Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India shared her views that in the past two years all have struggled with the outbreak of covid-19 which not only affected the life of the people but the economies worldwide.
“However, the country is witnessing some positive changes that the Covid-19 situation is getting better due to the vaccination. Since a large number of people are already vaccinated across the world, so many countries have decided to open the tourism sector including Thailand,” she said.
While interacting virtually, Tanes Petsuwan, Deputy Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand for Asia & South Pacific Region informed that while re-opening the country for travellers after the pandemic, the current year will be celebrated as ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022’ with a new marketing campaign ‘Amazing New Chapters’ to welcome back tourists to the country with new perspective and experiences.
Elaborating on his plans for the year ahead, Petsuwan further informed that to attract more travellers from India, TAT will target to reach new (tier three) cities – such as North-Eastern part of the country apart from the metro cities.
He expects that India will be the fastest growing inbound market for tourism in Thailand as many surveys suggest that the country is on the priority list of Indian travellers and incentive events planners.
“With Thailand’s ‘Test & Go’ system in place the country expects a large number of travellers from India to begin with the post pandemic era.”
“We have seen lot of demands from Indian travellers who love to go back to Thailand, and from Thai side we are prepared to welcome back our guests in a safe a healthy atmosphere. We have started a good number of flights which will be increased gradually. We are looking to have an impressive number of Indian travellers to visit Thailand by end of the year,” said Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director TAT, New Delhi
Speaking on the same lines, Pinki Arora, Marketing Representative of TAT for North & East India, Bangladesh & Nepal informed that TAT is receiving a host of queries from Indian wedding planners and incentive event organisers, who have shown their interest to go to Thailand for events.
Tirawat Thongpurk, Team Lead India of Thai Airways informed that the airline has scheduled double daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
