TAT launches Visit Thailand Year 2022 & campaign Amazing New Chapters

In order to celebrate the re-opening of Thailand along with the announcement of ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022’ and launch of the new marketing campaign ‘Amazing New Chapters’ Tourism Authority of Thailand in association with Thai Airways International, has organised a networking event with the Indian travel-trade fraternity recently at New Delhi.
Tanes Petsuwan, Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia & South Pacific), TAT, updated the travel-trade about the current tourism situation and SOP’s for visiting Thailand. He also updated the audience about new products and destinations in Thailand.
“With the launch of ‘Visit Thailand Year’ the campaign – Amazing New Chapters focuses on three chapters, Awaken Your Senses, The One You Love, The Earth We Care and inviting world’s travellers to experience a deeper connection with the Kingdom’s unique culture and precious environment.
Apart from this, Petsuwan highlighted the various segments such as weddings and honeymoon, gastronomy, health and wellness, workation and sustainable tourism that TAT will be focusing and promoting among the Indian travellers.
According to the latest figures shared by the Tourism Authority of Thailand the country has received over 82,420 Indian visitors from January 1st to May 19th, 2022, making India the number one source market for Thailand.
With this, Thailand is betting on India, which has mostly been among the top five markets for the tourism industry of the kingdom. TAT expects at least five lakh Indian visitors to travel to Thailand in the post pandemic year 2022.
In the year 2019, prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, India was the fastest growing market for Thailand. The country has welcomed nearly two million Indians during that year with a growth of 25% and generated 86 billion baht in revenue.

The evening was studded with a Thai cultural performance along with a grand musical performance by world known saxophone artist Koh Saxman from Thailand. Saxman was joined by Indian musical artist Vasudha Sharma to honour India-Thai cultural relationship.
To further promote Thailand as the perfect holiday destination, Tourism Authority of Thailand participated at SATTE – South Asia’s leading trade show, with 28 exhibitors including representatives of hotels, attractions, DMCs and airlines.
