PM Modi launches India’s first seaplane service between Kevadia & Sabarmati Riverfront

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Water Aerodrome at Kevadia and the Seaplane service connecting Statue of Unity in Kevadia with Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. These are part of a series of Water Aerodromes being planned to bring the last mile connectivity.
The service is expected to give a big boost to the state’s tourism as well as Regional Connectivity Scheme. The service will officially start operations from November 01, 2020. Travellers can purchase tickets online or through ticket window at the Water Aerodrome at Ahmedabad as well as Kevadia.
Travellers will be able to book the ticket for as low as Rs. 1500 per person. The fare has been decided under RCS-UDAN rates. However, only certain quota of seats on each flight will be allotted at the lower price bracket.  For the remaining, fare will be upto Rs. 4800 per person.
