Muziris Paddle 2021 to cover historical sites of Kerala

Muziris Paddle is jointly organised by Kerala Tourism, Muziris Heritage Project and Jellyfish Watersports

This year’s edition will be held on February 12th and 13 and is likely to see Kayakers, stand-up paddlers and sailors from India and abroad which will be flagged off from the Kottappuram Corniche Kodungalloor and end at the KTDC Marina, Bolgatty Palace Island Resort, Cochin.
Muziris Paddle 2021 will cover a few historical sites of Kerala. The participants will get to explore – The oldest trade route, The Manjumatha Church – established in 1503, Pallippuram Fort – constructed by the Portuguese in 1503 and The Sahodaran Ayyappan Museum all while paddling through the backwaters. Most importantly the participants will be conserving the river, with every paddle they will be cleaning the river.
“Exploring real Kerala, through its backwater is an incredible experience. But, the biggest thing is to be able to contribute back to nature. Muziris Paddle has been providing this experience for the last three years in a bid to conserve water bodies through paddling,” Sreejith AK, General Manager, Jellyfish Watersports.
“We have conducted several river expeditions and clean up initiatives in the past that have been immensely popular amongst nature enthusiasts locally and internationally. Besides touring the historic Spice Route experiencing its cultural diversity, we will also be spreading a message on river/lake conservation and keeping them plastic-free to retain its original beauty,” he added.
