IATO praises government’s decision of resuming tourist visa

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has welcomed government’s decision of resuming tourist visas with effect from 15th October for chartered flights, and with effect from 15th November for tourists of other categories.
While elaborating on the development, IATO’s President Rajiv Mehra thanked the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Tourism Minister of India for considering stakeholder’s request in resuming tourist visa which Ministry of Home Affairs has announced.
“This is a very encouraging for the tourism industry and we hope the inbound tourism would start to some extent and will give sigh of relief to the tourism industry stakeholders,” said Mehra.
Mehra has made an appeal to the Government to resume international flight operation and all airlines should be allowed to start operating their flights as per bilateral agreement that was in place before March 2020 so that foreign tourists who want to visit our country can book their tickets.
