Vistara begins inflight Wi-Fi internet onboard from today

In a first for Indian carriers, Vistara will from September 18 offer inflight Wi-Fi internet connectivity onboard on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners that currently operate Delhi-London route. As an introductory offer, the service will be available free of cost to all Vistara customers for a limited period.
Vistara plans to soon introduce the service on its Airbus A321neo aircraft also. Vistara customers can now stay seamlessly connected at 35,000 feet above the ground, send email, access information, use social media, and more.
Passengers onboard some Vistara flights will be able to use data to make WhatsApp calls, send messages on Facebook, and read email. Given the experience in other countries, streaming video might not be easy as speeds won’t be all that great.
The in-flight connectivity service by Vistara, launched in partnership with Tata group firm Nelco, will be offered on its Dreamliners and Airbus 321 planes. “Nelco is the first Indian company to provide this service in the country, marking the beginning of a new era of wi-fi on aircraft in Indian skies,” a press release said.
