209 foreign buyers confirmed for ITM, 100 more expected, Goyal

The inaugural edition of India Tourism Mart (ITM) next month has already confirmed 209 foreign buyers. There are about 100 more foreign buyers expected over the next weeks. Meanwhile of the 150 odd booths that are up for grabs, about 100 have already been booked.
“India Tourism Mart is going very well. Out of 400 applications that we have received, the screening committee has already selected 209 buyers. These buyers are from over 50 countries. We are expecting around 300 buyers if not more. We are expecting that another 100 buyers and influencer will also be there and this does not include the media and bloggers which the Ministry of Tourism is inviting,” informed Subhash Goyal, Chairman of the Organising Committee of ITM and Secretary of FAITH.
“We hope that this is going to be the best show that India has put up so far. More than 20 states are participating as exhibitors. We have about 100 booths already booked by various suppliers including hoteliers and tour operators,” he added. The inaugural edition of ITM has about 150 booths. There are about 50 booths still to be booked.
Goyal informed that there are some eight to nine tours that IATO is hosting that will include Delhi tour, Golden Triangle, Kerala, South India, North India and tour to North-East, among others, covering the whole of the country. The three-day event will take place at Vigyan Bhawan from September 16-18. The event is scheduled for the afternoon inauguration at about 2 pm at the Vigyan Bhawan Auditorium.
ITM is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with Federation of Associations of India Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH), an umbrella body of 10 leading industry associations of India representing travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers and event organisers.
