Reddy flags off Bharat Gaurav tourist train on 18-day Ramayana Yatra

More Bharat Gaurav tourist trains likely on Krishna, Buddhist and other such circuits

Union Minister of Tourism, G Kishan Reddy along with Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off first-of-its-kind Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train from Delhi’ Safdarjung Railway Station.
The train will run on an 18 days itinerary, also crossing international border to Nepal, covering key sites associated with Ramayana Circuit. The first Bharat Gaurav tourist train departed carrying around 500 passengers on board. The train is operated by IRCTC.
Flagging off the train, Reddy said, “Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is starting its first Shri Ramayana Yatra for 18 days from today, the first trip of the train operating on the Ramayana Circuit will also cover the religious destination of Janakpur (in Nepal) for the first time in addition to other popular destinations such as Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhui, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Pancvati (Nasik), Hampi, Rameshwaram and Bhadrachalam,” the Union Minister added.
He informed that MoT, along with IRCTC and Ministry of Railways, has proposed Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains for Krishna, Buddhist and other such circuits.Speaking on the occasion, Vaishnaw said that Bharat Gaurav tourist train is intended to showcase the rich and diverse culture and heritage of India.
The air-conditioned train will cover Janakpur (Nepal),Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhui, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Panchvati (Nasik), Hampi, Rameshwaram and Bhadrachalam, covering around 8000 kms during its 18-day run on the Ramayana Circuit.
