Bhajan clubbing at Delhi University was a series of contemporary devotional music events held from February 10th to 19th 2026, featuring live bands, DJs, and rock-concert energy under the Vasantotsav 2026 celebrations.
According to the RTI, (obtained by Newslaundry) the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) awarded the execution of the eight events organised across Delhi University colleges to Total Multimedia Pvt Ltd for INR 1,83,05,200 (exclusive of GST).
The events were organised at Ramjas College, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) College, Shaheed Sukhdev College, Shyam Lal College, PGDAV College, Shivaji College and University Stadium with the live performances by Leela Band, Raghav Raja Band, the Indian Music Collective, Sadho Band, Rahassya Band, Keshavam Band performed and Sam Band.
Five of the eight programmes were held during the university’s inaugural Delhi University Literature Festival (DULF), organised from February 12 to 14. The official festival featured television anchors Anjana Om Kashyap, Rubika Liyaquat, Anand Narasimhan and ANI chief Smita Prakash, along with BJP leader Ram Madhav, Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri and other speakers.
An Instagram reel posted by the agency shows Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurating the event. At the launch, Gupta said: “When Modi Ji spoke about this (Bhajan Clubbing) in his Mann Ki Baat, we were wondering where in Delhi could we do this. There could not be a better place than Delhi University.”
On being asked why the tourism department funded these events, an Official at DTTDC, informed that the events were organised to engage DU students and introduce them to Indian culture. Though these ‘entry by invitation only’ events were not open for general public. It required prior registration and was only open to students and faculty members.
