G Kishan Reddy appointed as Minister for Tourism & Culture

Shripad Yesso Naik who has earlier served as the tourism minister has appointed as the Minister of State for Tourism.

In the Cabinet expansion and reshuffle effected by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi major changes have been brought in the Cabinet.The Ministries of Tourism & Culture have been upgraded into the Cabinet stature with Gangapuram Kishan Reddy being appointed as the new Union Minister for Tourism & Culture.
In addition, Reddy has also secured the Ministry of Culture and DoNER Ministry portfolios. As part of bringing synergies between departments of the government, the Prime Minister Modi has clubbed the Department of DoNER with the Tourism & Culture.
Elected from the Secunderabad constituency to the Lok Sabha in the 2019 General Elections, Kishan Reddy had previously served as the Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Central Government. It’s a big recognition for Reddy being elevated as a Cabinet Minister within a short span of two years.
A three-time MLA who had won two consecutive terms from Amberpet Assembly seat, Reddy was also the BJP’s Telangana unit’s president. Reddy has established his image as an educationist and a leader who works for the youth’s cause.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Reddy had tweeted, “I express my profound gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi for giving me an opportunity to join the union cabinet. It will be my honour to serve the people of Maa Bharati and realise the ideals of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’!”
