Flights connecting Kolkata from Delhi, Mumbai to operate thrice a week

Restrictions on incoming flights to West Bengal have been eased with three weekly flights instead of two from Delhi, Mumbai to Kolkata from January 5th.
In a letter written to the Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India Rajiv Bansal, the Additional Chief Secretary of Home & Hill Affairs Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department Government of West Bengal, B.P. Gopalika has informed that the State Government is extremely sensitive towards the inconvenience of Covid-19 (new variant Omicron) cases in the State.
However, the incoming domestic flights from Delhi and Mumbai will be allowed thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with effect from 5th January 2022 and same will be reviewed again shortly depending upon the COVID situation in the state.
The restriction was imposed to contain the growing cases of new variant of Covid-19 – Omicron in the state.
