Vizag: Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Eighth Annual Convention of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) hosted by Andhra Pradesh Tourism in Visakhapatnam from November 17-19, 2017. The Convention was aimed to promote Andhra Pradesh among the domestic travellers of the country.
While speaking at the inaugural session of the Convention the Chief Minister said: “Tourism is one sector which gives the maximum benefits with little investment. Along with the investors the Government is also getting maximum revenue with little a spending. While in other sectors like industry and agriculture, the government was extending various incentives and concessions, the returns were not guaranteed.”
Speaking at the outset of the convention Mr Naidu called upon the domestic tour operators to make Vizag as a tourism hub. Well renowned attractions of the State Araku and Borra Caves are just 100 km away from the city of Vizag. “We are for the promotion of both domestic and international tourism in Andhra Pradesh,” he added. He informed that Lu Lu Group to establish a convention centre and shopping mall on the APIIC Grounds near the RK Beach in next three years.
Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya spoke on the efforts being made to promote adventure sports and cultural traditions. A tourism calendar has been prepared to hold 24 mega events during the year.
The Convention was attended by more than 300 prominent domestic tour operators from across the country. On the occasion the Association ADTOI launched its Andhra Pradesh Chaptre. The three day long Convention organised a Pre/Post FAM trip for the delegates to have a firsthand experience of the tourism products of the State.
Himanshu Shukla, IAS, CEO, Andhra Pradesh Tourism after making an impressive and  educative audio-visual presentation on Andhra Pradesh tourism potential conducted the Valedictory  Session of the Convention proceedings along with Aashima Mehrotra, Director, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, and felicitated the supporting officials.
Mukesh Kumar Meena – Secretary Andhra Pradesh, Pravin Kumar – Collector, Sriramulu Naidiu – Executive Director ADTDC, PP Khanna – President, Rajat Sawhney – Vice President and Chetan Gupta – General Secretary of ADTOI were present on the occasion.
