One of Bhubaneswar’s oldest and landmark hotel property, The Crown is currently undergoing a major refurbishment drive that will put the hotel right in the top league in the city in terms of contemporary and most-modern amenities and facilities.
The extensive nature of renovation, that includes rooms, F&B outlets, meetings and banquette halls as well as public areas, is being carried out in a phased manner so that it does not affect or interfere with the hotel’s day to day operation.
In operation since 2000, the 68 key The Crown Bhubaneswar is also adding new inventory to the property with the total investment expected to be in the region of 15 to 20 crore. The entire renovation exercise, including the addition of new inventory, is expected to be completed by April-May next year.
The Crown’s Director Debasish Patanaik, while speaking to Whereabouts, informed, “We are very excited about the current exercise. We are doing the renovation floor by floor. We have completed the first floor. We are about to complete the second floor. It should be completed by August end. The third floor should be ready by the end of October. The new inventory will include a total of 17 rooms, including six Suites category rooms, that is coming up in a separate block,”
With the new addition The Crown will boasts of a total of 85 keys that will have 10 Suites category rooms while the remaining will be Executive and Premium categories of rooms.
The hotel also boasts of significant banqueting offerings in the city that will also soon wear brand new renovated avatar with most modern and contemporary meetings and banqueting amenities. It has one hall, about 6,000 square feet that can sit over 1,000 pax in theatre style, another one, about 2,500 square feet can take in around 225 people. Other smaller halls include a 1500 square feet hall ideal for 100-120 pax and a 40 pax hall good for small get-together and corporate meetings.
Furthermore, for the 68 key The Crown, its F&B offerings are comprehensive and one of the most sought-after in the city. Crown’s ‘Mainland China’ caters to Chinese pallets, whereas the ‘Bollywood’ caters to Indian cuisine. Crown’s talk of the town ‘Zodiac’ serves different Indian and international cuisines along with its own fusion flares. Post renovation all these F&B outlets will wear new look and décor that will further invigorate their feel and ambience.
