Star Alliance scores a ‘birdie’ at its corporate golfing event

Around 55 corporate participate at the Star Alliance Invitational Golf Tournament 2018 at the prestigious Delhi Golf Club

Global airlines alliance major Star Alliance recently organised the corporate coveted “Star Alliance Invitational Golf Tournament 2018” at New Delhi’s premier Delhi Golf Club. The tournament, organised for the corporate clients and their head honchos of Star Alliance’s member airlines, has steadily grown in profile in recent years attracting increasing interests from some of the top India corporate houses. The tournament was organised on 6th of October. Around 55 corporate participated in the tournament.
According to some of the representatives of Star Alliance’s member airlines present at the tournament, not only has the event grown tremendously over the years but more and more corporate are showing interests in the event today and it was actually difficult to accommodate 55 corporate as many more companies were keen to participate in the tournament.
“It was a very successful event. We are really excited at the overwhelming response that the event has garnered, wish we could have accommodated even more corporate. You can see everybody here is so excited. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we see an even bigger participation in the subsequent editions,” said an airlines representative.
The tournament was also an opportunity for the member airlines to network and educate corporate community on benefits of joining hands with Star Alliance. The event was followed by an awards function that recognised the winners in different categories. Awards were given away by Star Alliance’s member airlines. The tournament was managed by SLW Golf Management.
Cdr. Satish Mehta and Kabir Talwar cornered the top honours notching up Winner Gross and Runner up Gross respectively. In the Handicap Category 0-12, Puneet Beriwala and Kaushik Dutta were declared the Winner Net and Runner up Nett. In the Handicap Category 13-18, Ravi Burman and Yoshika Mizuno were declared the Winner Net and Runner up Nett. Whereas honours for ‘Closest to the Pin Overall’ and ‘Longest Drive Overall’ went to Yash Sharma and Kabir Talwar respectively.
Also seen swinging on the event were Suman Billa, Jt. Secretary – Tourism, Government of India; Sanjay Singh from TATA Sons, Varindar Sewak of Nestle, amongst others.
